PAMPANGA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. formally inaugurated the Pampanga Provincial Hospital–Clark (PPHC) on May 14, 2026, marking the first-ever government-run public hospital inside the Clark Freeport Zone. Located at Changi Gateway in Clark Global City, the facility brings modern healthcare within reach of Kapampangans and over 150,000 workers in the freeport. On May 16, just two days after the inauguration, the hospital recorded its first successful baby delivery — a woman from Mabalacat City gave birth to Baby Sky.
A P601-Million Public-Private Partnership
The hospital's construction cost totaled P601.74 million, funded by the Provincial Government of Pampanga, Department of Health, PAGCOR, and BCDA. The three-storey facility has 143 beds — 110 ward beds, 16 semi-private rooms, and 17 private rooms. Governor Lilia Pineda said 70 percent of capacity is reserved for indigent patients under the province's zero-balance billing policy. Modern equipment includes CT scan, X-ray, endoscopy, and mammography machines.
First Baby Born Just Two Days After Opening
On May 16, Eloisa from Mabalacat City delivered Baby Sky at PPHC, marking the hospital's first successful birth. The delivery was assisted by PPHC doctors and nurses who had been training for weeks before the formal inauguration. Governor Pineda personally welcomed the newborn as a symbol of the hospital's immediate impact. The facility's OB-GYNE, ICU, and NICU units are now fully operational for future patients.
PhilHealth YAKAP Accreditation Underway
The hospital is applying for PhilHealth's Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) accreditation. Once approved, registered members will receive free consultations, laboratory services, cancer screenings, and up to P20,000 in annual medicines. All nine district hospitals in Pampanga are already YAKAP-accredited, making PPHC the tenth. BCDA previously committed P50 million for a dedicated access road to the hospital.
