SURIGAO CITY — The City Government of Surigao, through the City Health Office (CHO), joined the Medical and Dental Mission 2026 organized by Pacific Nickel Philippines, Inc. on July 3, 2026, at the Barangay Nonoc Multi-Purpose Gym. The activity brought essential healthcare services closer to residents, particularly those in remote and underserved communities. Doctors, dentists, nurses, medical technologists, barangay health workers (BHWs), and other medical professionals were mobilized to provide free medical and dental consultations, basic health services, and other healthcare assistance to community members.
Bringing Healthcare Closer to the Community
The medical and dental mission provided residents with access to vital health services that might otherwise be difficult to obtain. Community members received free consultations, dental check-ups, and basic medical care, addressing both immediate health concerns and promoting preventive healthcare practices. The presence of a wide range of medical professionals ensured that residents could receive comprehensive care in a single location, eliminating the need for multiple trips to different healthcare facilities.
Strengthening Partnerships for Community Well-Being
The mission highlighted the importance of collaboration between the local government and the private sector in improving access to quality healthcare. By working together with Pacific Nickel Philippines, Inc., the City Government of Surigao demonstrated its commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen community well-being. Such partnerships enable the delivery of essential services to barangays, particularly those with limited healthcare infrastructure, and reinforce the shared responsibility of ensuring the health and safety of all residents.
