A milestone that began with a single store in Metro Manila over four decades ago has now reached 100 — and the celebration took place right on Friendship Highway in Angeles City. Wendy’s officially opened its 100th Philippine restaurant on April 16, 2026, marking a significant achievement for the brand and for Pampanga as a growing hub for international retail and dining .
The milestone branch introduces a fresh new look, departing from Wendy’s signature red motif in favor of a bold blue color scheme . The store also features a hand-painted mural showcasing iconic landmarks and cultural elements of Angeles City, reinforcing the brand’s connection to the local community. “The new design of Wendy’s reflects the communities we serve. Here in Angeles City, we incorporated popular landmarks and traditions into a hand-painted mural,” said Joey Garcia, President and CEO of Wenphil Corp .
A Kapampangan-Led Milestone With Local Pride
The grand opening was led by Eight8Ate Holdings Inc. President and CEO Joey Garcia, alongside Chris Conway, SVP and Managing Director for APMEA at The Wendy’s Company, and brand ambassador Caprice Cayetano . For Garcia, a Kapampangan himself, reaching this milestone in his home province carried personal significance. “It’s not just about reaching 100 stores. It’s about where we are and how far we’ve come,” he shared .
The Angeles City branch represents more than just a numerical achievement — it signals Wendy’s deepening roots in the Philippines after more than 40 years in the market . The company first entered the country in the 1980s and has since steadily expanded its footprint, with Wenphil Corp. opening restaurants in high-traffic urban and suburban locations nationwide.
Targeting 200 Stores as QSR Industry Booms
The milestone comes at a time of rapid growth for the Philippine quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry, which has expanded nearly 19% annually over the past five years . More than 70% of Filipino consumers visit a QSR at least once per week, making the Philippines one of the most active QSR markets globally.
Chris Conway of The Wendy’s Company called the achievement “a meaningful milestone for our brand and a testament to the strength of this market,” adding that “the Philippines continues to be an important growth market for Wendy’s in the region” . Wenphil has an existing development agreement to operate 200 Wendy’s restaurants across the country by 2030, effectively doubling its current footprint.
For Pampanga, hosting this landmark store reinforces the province’s appeal to major international brands and highlights Angeles City’s position as a prime location for business and tourism. The store stands as a testament to the province’s growing role as a destination for investment and development beyond Metro Manila.
