ILOILO CITY — On May 28, 2026, Mayor Raisa Treñas led a concrete pouring ceremony that turned years of planning into visible progress. The dual‑site event marked the start of vertical construction for the Iloilo Residences in Barangay Sambag and the Uswag 4PH Condominium Complex in Barangay San Isidro, Jaro—two projects designed to provide modern, inclusive homes for middle‑ and lower‑income Ilonggos.
The ceremonies were held at both sites, drawing beneficiaries, city officials, and project partners. Mayor Treñas said the projects prove what happens when government works with purpose. “This project rises as proof that when the government works with compassion and purpose, people‑centered projects become possible,” she said. She emphasized the homes were designed for Ilonggos who aspire to own but do not yet have the capacity.
Two Projects, Two Timelines, One Shared Vision
The Iloilo Residences in Barangay Sambag broke ground in February 2026 and will deliver 362 rental units for families starting out, disaster survivors, and displaced residents. The first building is expected to be completed within 11 months, providing homes at approximately ₱850 per month.
The Uswag 4PH Condominium Complex in Barangay San Isidro spans 13 ten‑storey buildings and will deliver 1,677 affordable condominium units. Two buildings are expected to be finished within 10 months. The project is the first under the Pambansang Pabahay program implemented through a public‑private partnership model. Local Housing Office head Atty. Peter Jason Millare oversees the city’s housing delivery efforts.
A Collaboration Built on National and Local Partnership
The projects were made possible through the support of DHSUD Secretary Ramon “Ping” P. Aliling and a coalition of partners. The Iloilo City Government, the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program, Pag‑IBIG Fund, EON Realty Development Corporation, and Thaison Builder and Developer Inc. all collaborated to advance the developments.
The concrete pouring ceremony symbolized the moment planning gave way to construction. For the families who will one day occupy these units, the event was both a milestone and a promise. The Iloilo City Local Housing Office, which spearheads the initiative, continues to implement the city’s four major housing programs under a strict needs‑based allocation system. The first buildings are expected to welcome tenants within the year.
