TAGBILARAN CITY — Fifteen barangay candidates will take the stage at the Bohol Wisdom School Gymnasium tonight, June 30, 2026, to vie for the crown in Mutya sa Tagbilaran 2026. The grand coronation night, starting at 8:00 PM, promises to celebrate not just beauty but the leadership, courage, and compassion of empowered women.

A Stage for Empowerment

This year’s edition of Mutya sa Tagbilaran moves beyond traditional pageantry to spotlight women who champion meaningful advocacies. The candidates have been preparing not just for the walk but to articulate their platforms on education, livelihood, and community development. Organizers see the event as a launching pad for future local leaders.

Mayor Jane Yap emphasized that the competition is designed to foster role models who can drive positive change across the city. The pageant aligns with the city’s vision of nurturing women who are ready to serve their barangays and beyond. The night will celebrate substance over surface, with every contestant carrying a message of hope.

The 15 Barangay Ambassadors

The official roster features a diverse lineup of young women, each proudly representing her community. Candidates include Zia Angela Mondilla from Bool, Kathline Siason from Booy, Shoshana B. Lefler from Cabawan, and Larsine Grace O. Jensen from Cogon. Channah Shanayd G. Sadler (Dampas), Nikah Isabelle Bagsac (Dao), and Candy Rose C. Anderson (Manga) round out the early lineup.

From the Poblacion districts, Jhea Marie C. Dupalco represents Poblacion I, Shian Angelikha Daniel Bajao carries Poblacion II, and Maureen A. Macalam stands for Poblacion III. The roster continues with Ella Rheane C. Dano (San Isidro), Irish Niña A. Madayag (Taloto), Gracelle Gwen G. Uli (Tiptip), and Anna Mae Via T. Amba (Ubujan).

Angel Laurienne Pearson from Mansasa completes the group of 15 aspirants, each bringing a unique advocacy and personal story to the stage. Throughout the pre‑pageant activities, they have engaged in community outreach and leadership seminars. Their journey to tonight’s coronation has been one of growth, sisterhood, and a deepening commitment to public service.

More Than a Pageant

Mutya sa Tagbilaran serves as a platform where the candidates’ advocacies are heard. From environmental sustainability to youth empowerment, each contestant has chosen a cause close to her heart. The pageant format includes segments where finalists share their plans to address local challenges, turning the competition into a dialogue between the youth and the community.

The winner is expected to carry the title not merely as a symbol of beauty but as a responsibility to serve. Past winners have initiated feeding programs, coastal clean‑ups, and literacy campaigns. This legacy of action reinforces the pageant’s mission to produce not just a queen but a catalyst for change.

Part of a Vibrant Festival

The event is a highlight of the broader Saulog Tagbilaran 2026 Festival, which runs under the theme “One Family, One City.” The month‑long celebration commemorates the city’s heritage, including the historic 1565 Blood Compact between Datu Sikatuna and Miguel López de Legazpi. The pageant embodies the festival’s spirit of unity and collective pride.

Local businesses, cultural groups, and civic organizations have rallied behind the event, making it a true community affair. Spectators are expected to fill the gymnasium to capacity, with gates opening as early as 2:00 PM. The electric atmosphere will blend pageantry, music, and the warm hospitality that Tagbilaran is known for.

A Night to Celebrate Courage and Compassion

As the candidates make their final walk, the city will witness the crowning of a new ambassador who embodies the values of the “One City, One Family” campaign. The night is set to inspire young women across Tagbilaran to step into leadership roles and pursue their dreams with confidence.

Beyond the glittering gowns and sparkling crowns, Mutya sa Tagbilaran 2026 stands as a testament to the city’s commitment to uplifting its women and communities. Tonight, the Bohol Wisdom School Gymnasium will not just crown a winner; it will launch a new chapter of empowered leadership.
