Through the OTOP Next Gen Program, Cavite is showcasing its unique local food products, particularly cacao and coffee from the eighth district, which are receiving development support from DTI and local lawmakers. Representatives Aniela Tolentino and Bryan Revilla have pledged support for these initiatives, helping Cavite's local food producers reach wider markets.

Building a Stronger Foundation for Local Producers

Cavite's eighth district is known for producing quality cacao and coffee products, and now these local industries are receiving a significant boost through the OTOP (One Town, One Product) Next Gen Program . In separate meetings with Representatives Aniela Tolentino and Bryan Revilla, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) explored collaborations to strengthen these industries through capacity-building training, product development support, and market access programs . This partnership ensures that local farmers and producers receive the technical assistance and government backing they need to compete in wider markets.

The DTI recently conducted its 2026 OTOP Next Gen Assessment, Consultation, and Triage session in Trece Martires City, bringing together representatives from the Food and Drug Administration, Intellectual Property Office, Department of Science and Technology, and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist . These agencies provided consultations on product development, packaging and labeling, food safety compliance, intellectual property protection, and innovation . This holistic approach ensures that Cavite's cacao and coffee producers are not just making great products—they are building sustainable, competitive businesses.

Market Access and Retail Opportunities

For consumers eager to support Cavite's local food producers, the province offers dedicated retail spaces where these products are showcased. The OTOP Hub at SM City Dasmariñas serves as a physical channel where OTOP products, especially those assisted through product development, are featured on a day-to-day basis . These hubs offer food products like coffee, tablea (cocoa tablets), pastries, and other local delicacies alongside non-food items, providing a one-stop shop for Cavite's best offerings .

DTI Cavite also maintains the e-SIGAW platform, which includes a B2B commerce site called e-BIDA ang LOKAL to promote products of Cavite MSMEs, particularly those that have undergone product development through the OTOP Next Gen Program . With local lawmakers like Tolentino and Revilla providing policy backing and support for trade fairs, Cavite's cacao and coffee producers are well-positioned to grow their brands and reach customers across the region and beyond .
