The "Linamnam at Pamana: Heritage Tour and Cooking Demo" is inviting locals and tourists to explore the city’s rich culinary and cultural roots. Launched in celebration of Heritage Month, the program guides participants through the historic Heritage District, includes an interactive Palengke Experience, and features live cooking demonstrations of authentic Kapampangan dishes .
Led by the Angeles City Tourism Office (ACTO) under Mayor Carmelo "Jon" Lazatin II, the initiative partners with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) and the Department of Tourism Region III . The event also enjoys support from Clark Cityfront Mall, Evolution Transport Solution, and St. Nicholas Transport Services Corporation, emphasizing a community-wide push to preserve local heritage.
Walk Through History at Pamintuan Mansion
The heritage tour is the event's centerpiece, taking guests on a guided walk through Angeles City’s most iconic landmarks. Participants start at the Pamintuan Mansion — a National Historical Landmark where President Emilio Aguinaldo once celebrated the first anniversary of Philippine independence . The route also includes stops at the Museo ning Angeles, Holy Rosary Parish Church, and Bale Herencia, with storytellers sharing the fascinating history behind each site .
The experience goes beyond sightseeing. A "Palengke Experience" lets visitors explore the local market, learning about fresh ingredients and traditional cooking methods from vendors themselves. This hands-on segment helps guests appreciate why Kapampangan cuisine is considered the best in the country, focusing on the stories behind every dish and ingredient .
Cook Like a Kapampangan Master
After the morning tour, participants settle in for live cooking demonstrations showcasing authentic Kapampangan recipes. The demos highlight signature dishes like Ensaladang Paku (edible fern salad), Pindang Damulag (carabao meat jerky), and the famous sizzling sisig that put Angeles City on the global food map .
