The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has launched the Youth Rising Sports Clinic at the National Academy of Sports in New Clark City, connecting youth from neighboring communities with athletic training and mentorship from soldier-athletes. This flagship community initiative embodies BCDA's commitment to holistic development, affirming New Clark City's role as an inclusive sports hub for local populations.
Holistic Development Through Sports and Mentorship
The Youth Rising Sports Clinic is designed to nurture character, discipline, teamwork, resilience, and leadership alongside athletic skill. The program provides a safe space for youth to learn, stay active, build friendships, and discover their potential. By bringing together soldier-athletes from the Philippine Navy who coach drills and model core values, the clinic ensures that participants not only improve their physical capabilities but also develop life skills that will serve them beyond the playing field. BCDA OIC Senior Vice President Mark P. Torres champions the transformative power of sports, leading a program that affirms New Clark City's role as an emerging, inclusive sports hub serving local populations.
Community Partners Ensuring Safety and Well-Being
The University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) ensures medical safety and well-being, while the Camp O'Donnell Military Treatment Facility provides local emergency and medical backing. The Manila Water Foundation supplies hydration, sanitation, and community welfare support. The National Academy of Sports (NAS) is a state-of-the-art facility developed by the BCDA in partnership with the Department of Education, providing world-class infrastructure that supports the development of young athletes.
