MAKATI CITY — The Nordic Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines is preparing to stage a major business awards event in Makati that will recognize companies championing sustainability, innovation, and ethical leadership. The Nordic-Philippine Business Awards 2026 is scheduled to take place on June 2 at Dusit Thani Manila, one of the city’s landmark hotels located within Makati’s business district. The event is expected to gather Nordic ambassadors, top executives, and leaders from both the Nordic and Philippine business communities. Organizers confirmed that the independent judging process is currently ongoing, with the official winners to be announced during the awards ceremony.
Five Major Award Categories and Fireside Keynote
This year’s awards program is divided into five categories: Community Impact Award, Sustainability Leadership Award, Innovation & Digital Transformation Award, Diversity & Inclusion Champion Award, and the Nordic–Philippine Partnership Award. A major highlight of the evening will be a fireside keynote discussion featuring all four Nordic ambassadors stationed in Manila. The session will focus on how Nordic principles and business values contribute to long-term growth and sustainable success.
Participating ambassadors include Franz-Michael Mellbin of the Royal Danish Embassy, Saija Nurminen of the Embassy of Finland, Christian Halaas Lyster of the Royal Norwegian Embassy, and Anna Ferry of the Embassy of Sweden. The program will also include a winners’ panel discussion where recognized companies will share how values such as trust, innovation, and sustainable growth are being implemented within the Philippine business landscape.
Reinforcing Makati’s Role as the Country’s Business Capital
The choice of Dusit Thani Manila as the venue further highlights Makati’s role as the country’s leading business and financial center. Located along EDSA, the hotel continues to host high-level corporate gatherings and international business events. The Nordic-Philippine Business Awards also strengthen NordCham Philippines’ position as a key advocate for responsible and sustainable business practices in the country. For Makati-based enterprises and industry leaders, the event serves as a platform that promotes excellence, innovation, ethical leadership, and sustainable business growth. Sponsorship packages and networking opportunities are likewise being offered as part of the program.
Continuing a Tradition of Recognizing Responsible Growth
Held annually, the Nordic-Philippine Business Awards honors organizations that contribute to a better future through responsible growth, innovation, and meaningful partnerships. Nominations for the 2026 edition officially closed on April 3, with judging now underway. Previous award recipients have included Nezda Services, Inc. for Innovation, Raffles and Fairmont Makati for Sustainability, SN Aboitiz Power Group for Community Impact, Ideal Visa Consultancy for Partnership, and Cybalink Solutions for Business of the Year. This year’s ceremony is expected to further strengthen the shared values and collaborations that define Nordic-Philippine business excellence.
