ILOILO CITY — The Iloilo City Government, through its Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion (LEDIP) Office, is calling on micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) owners to attend a digital transformation forum on July 3, 2026. The half‑day session aims to equip local entrepreneurs with the tools to shift from traditional operations to scalable, tech‑driven enterprises.

A Platform for Digital Leap

The event, slated from eight in the morning until noon, promises practical insights on enhancing business efficiency and expanding market reach. Organizers have framed digital adoption not as a luxury but as a survival strategy in an increasingly competitive economy. The forum will help entrepreneurs understand how technology can automate daily processes and open new revenue streams.

Participants will learn strategies tailored specifically for MSMEs, which often lack the capital for large‑scale IT overhauls. The curriculum is designed to be immediately actionable, ensuring that attendees can begin implementing changes as soon as they return to their stores and offices. Registration is free but slots are limited, underscoring high demand for such upskilling opportunities.

Partnerships Building Infrastructure

Behind the forum lies a concerted effort by the LEDIP Office to forge partnerships that deliver real digital infrastructure. The office recently collaborated with Converge ICT to stage a business session focused on fiber technology and robust connectivity. Such tie‑ups ensure that MSMEs are not just taught digital skills but are also given access to the reliable internet backbone needed to sustain online operations.

The city government recognizes that no enterprise can thrive in isolation from connectivity. By bringing telecommunications providers into the conversation, Iloilo is laying the groundwork for a business ecosystem where digital storefronts, cloud‑based inventory, and online payment systems become the norm rather than the exception.

Sector‑Specific Innovations

Iloilo’s push extends beyond generic retail digitalization. The province previously co‑presented the Regional Health Information Management Systems Conference, signaling an intent to modernize even specialized sectors like health governance. This approach opens doors for local IT‑BPM firms and health‑related startups to participate in tech‑driven public services.

By encouraging MSMEs to explore niche markets, the city is fostering an environment where innovation flourishes. Entrepreneurs who attended earlier conferences have begun developing digital health records solutions and clinic management apps, proving that public‑sector leadership can stimulate private‑sector creativity and job creation.

Upskilling the Workforce

The digital transition requires a skilled workforce, and Iloilo is not leaving that to chance. The city works closely with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to train residents in emerging technologies, including drone operations and advanced digital systems. This ensures that as MSMEs adopt new tools, a pool of competent local talent stands ready.

Training programs are often co‑located with business events, allowing entrepreneurs to meet potential hires on the spot. The July 3 forum will also connect attendees with resource persons who can advise on workforce development grants. In this way, digital transformation becomes a community‑wide movement rather than an isolated corporate initiative.

Register and Secure a Spot

MSME owners, innovators, and aspiring entrepreneurs are encouraged to register through the official link provided by the LEDIP Office. The half‑day format accommodates busy schedules while delivering concentrated learning. Organizers have emphasized that securing a spot early is essential due to the limited capacity of the venue.

For Iloilo City, this forum represents another brick in a growing edifice of economic modernization. By equipping its backbone industries with digital capabilities, the city positions itself as a regional leader in innovation. The July 3 event may well be the catalyst that turns neighborhood negosyo into future‑ready enterprises.
