A new landmark is rising along San Fernando Boulevard, and it promises to transform the hospitality landscape of Pampanga's capital city. Savoy Hotel Capital Town, a 16-story, 374-room property, is actively under construction inside Megaworld's 35.6-hectare Capital Town township, marking the first 4-star hotel in the City of San Fernando .
The hotel forms a major piece of Megaworld's nationwide hospitality expansion, which includes six new hotel projects adding nearly 2,000 rooms to the company's portfolio over the next three years . Megaworld president and CEO Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso has set an ambitious target: "Our goal is to have more than 20 hotels and about 9,000 hotel rooms when we reach our 40th year within the next three years".
A Condotel Designed for Investors and Travelers Alike
Savoy Hotel Capital Town is being built as a "condotel" — a hybrid model where investors can purchase individual, fully furnished hotel units and receive a share of the annual hotel revenue. This structure offers Kapampangan investors a unique opportunity to participate in the province's growing hospitality sector while providing the developer with capital to fund construction.
The hotel's amenities will include four food and beverage outlets, a swimming pool with a grill bar, a Zabana bar and lounge, and ground-floor retail spaces. Its location within the Capital Town township puts guests within walking distance of residential condominiums, office buildings, and the upcoming Capital Mall — creating an integrated live-work-play environment.
Strategic Location Near NSCR Station Boosts Accessibility
The hotel's positioning is particularly strategic, located within a five-minute drive from the future North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) San Fernando Station. Once operational, the railway will dramatically reduce travel time between Pampanga and Metro Manila, making the hotel an attractive option for business travelers and tourists alike.
Megaworth has earmarked ₱65 billion in capital expenditures for 2026, funding expansion across residential, office, and retail projects in key growth areas including Pampanga . The company has confirmed that developments in Pampanga, Bacolod, Iloilo, Cavite, and Palawan are being prioritized because they "will help propel the growth of MREIT, Inc., Megaworld's real estate investment trust, as more developments add to the list of future infusions that the company can tap".
Economic Impact: Jobs, Tourism, and Investment Growth
The arrival of San Fernando's first 4-star hotel brings significant economic benefits to the province. Construction alone creates jobs for local workers, while the completed hotel will generate permanent employment in hospitality, food and beverage, retail, and facility management.
For the tourism sector, the 374-room property substantially expands Pampanga's capacity to accommodate both leisure travelers and business delegates attending conventions and events in Clark Freeport and the surrounding area. The hotel's 4-star rating signals to international travelers that Pampanga offers world-class accommodations, supporting the province's emergence as a premier destination beyond its famous culinary scene. Megaworld's five other hotels currently under construction — including ArcoVia Hotel in Pasig, Savoy Hotel Palawan, Paragua Sands in Palawan, The Hamptons Hotel in Laguna, and The Kingsford in Bacolod — demonstrate the company's confidence in the continued growth of tourism outside Metro Manila.
