MAKATI CITY — The magic of Oz is coming to Circuit Makati as Broadway stars Lissa De Guzman and Allie Trimm take the stage for a highly anticipated concert event. Titled "After Oz," the landmark musical celebration is set for July 10, 2026, at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater. Originally billed as a one-night-only experience, the overwhelming demand for the 7:30 p.m. show has prompted organizers to add a 2:00 p.m. matinee performance on the same day.
A Wicked Reunion in the Heart of Makati
Lissa De Guzman, who made history as the first Filipina actress to play Elphaba on the Broadway National Tour, and Allie Trimm, celebrated for her portrayal of Glinda, will headline the production. Their reunion on a Manila stage offers a rare treat for theater fans, giving audiences a chance to see the duo perform together outside the familiar world of the musical Wicked. The concert is presented by Ayala Land and the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in partnership with Theatre Group Asia, with additional support from Make It Makati, Circuit Makati, Seda Residences Makati, and El Nido Resorts.
A Star-Studded Lineup
Joining the Broadway duo is Asia's Phoenix, Morissette, who is preparing for her return to the theater stage this September as Middle Allie in The Notebook The Musical. The evening promises to be a massive celebration of world-class talent, featuring backing by Farley Asuncion & the After Oz Orchestra, alongside performances by the award-winning UST Singers and Mari Dance. The production is directed by Mikko Angeles, with musical direction by Farley Asuncion, choreography by JM Cabling, set design by Ohm David, lighting design by Meliton Roxas, and visual projections by Justin Santiago.
A Celebration of Artistry and Milestones
"After Oz" serves as the official fourth-anniversary special for the Samsung Performing Arts Theater, which has become a cultural anchor in Circuit Makati since its launch in 2022. Venue organizers state that the concert reflects the theater’s ongoing commitment to building audiences, activating creative spaces, and establishing Circuit Makati as a destination for culture, performance, and artistic exchange.
A Boost for Makati's Cultural Tourism
The buzz surrounding the "After Oz" concert underscores Makati's growing reputation as a destination for world-class performing arts. By hosting internationally recognized Broadway talents alongside local favorites, the city continues to anchor its position as a major draw for cultural tourists and theater enthusiasts.
