A Meaningful Farewell to Palarong Pambansa
Brianna Ang closed an important chapter in her volleyball career after representing the Negros Island Region in the 2026 Palarong Pambansa. Following their runner-up finish against the National Capital Region in the girls’ volleyball finals, the Bacolod Tay Tung standout shared that she has not yet finalized her plans for the future. Instead of focusing on what comes next, Ang said she wants to cherish her remaining time with her teammates before moving on from high school competition.
Leading Bacolod Through Years of Success
As one of the key players of Bacolod’s volleyball program, Ang helped the team achieve remarkable success in recent years. The squad captured back-to-back championships in 2023 and 2024 and consistently remained among the country’s top high school volleyball teams. Despite falling short of another title this year, Ang and her teammates showed determination throughout the tournament, battling through challenges and strong competition to once again reach the championship match.
Gratitude for Lessons Beyond the Court
Looking back on her Palarong Pambansa experience, Ang described it as a journey filled with excitement, challenges, and personal growth. She acknowledged the difficulties their young team faced but emphasized how those experiences helped shape her as both an athlete and an individual. As she prepares for the next stage of her volleyball career, Ang remains thankful for the friendships, memories, and lessons she gained while representing Bacolod and the Negros Island Region on one of the country’s biggest youth sports stages.
