A Historic Day for Church Members
Thousands of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints celebrated the dedication of the Bacolod Philippines Temple on May 31, 2026. The sacred building was dedicated by Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, making it the sixth dedicated temple in the Philippines. For many members in Negros Occidental and nearby areas, the temple represents the fulfillment of a long-awaited dream, providing a place of worship closer to home after years of traveling to other cities for temple services.
A Tribute to Faithful Pioneers
During the dedication ceremony, Elder Andersen honored the pioneering families who helped establish the Church in Bacolod and surrounding communities decades ago. He emphasized the important role these early members played in building a foundation of faith that continues to grow today. Local Church leaders also reflected on how the temple stands as a symbol of gratitude for the sacrifices and dedication of past generations whose efforts helped strengthen the Church throughout the region.
A Source of Growth and Inspiration
Church leaders described the temple as a place that will bring peace, spiritual guidance, and opportunities for families to deepen their faith. The dedication follows a successful public open house that welcomed more than 37,000 visitors from across Western Visayas, including community leaders and residents interested in learning about the temple. As membership in the region continues to grow, many believe the Bacolod Philippines Temple will serve as an enduring symbol of faith and community for generations to come.
