ILOILO CITY — The Iloilo City Government, through the MICE Center Iloilo City, officially released the schedule of the 12th Iloilo Bike Festival on May 28, 2026. The month‑long celebration, carrying the theme "FLOW CITY: Iloilo Always on the Move," runs from June 3 to 30 at the Megaworld Iloilo Business Park. The announcement sets the stage for a festival that reinforces the city's claim as the country's bike capital.
The festival opens on June 3 with World Bicycle Day, the Active Mobility Conference, and a citywide Mobility Count. June 5 marks the formal opening program and Bike to Work Day. The Food Bike Crawl runs from June 5 to 30, encouraging participants to explore Iloilo's culinary scene on two wheels. The Mega Criterium Race follows on June 13 and 14.
A Month Designed for Movement
The Push Bike Race takes place on June 20, while June 21 packs the calendar with the Iloilo Duathlon, Grand Fun Ride, Battle of the Bands, and the awarding and closing program. The festival debuts its first‑ever Electric Car Show from June 24 to 27, broadening the mobility conversation beyond bicycles. The full schedule is available on the Iloilo Bike Festival Facebook page.
The "FLOW CITY" theme captures Iloilo's commitment to active mobility. The festival transforms the 72‑hectare township into a living showcase of car‑free living, drawing participants from across the country. Megaworld's wide road networks within the business park provide a safe, controlled environment for competitive races and leisure rides alike.
A Destination That Pedals Forward
The Active Mobility Conference on opening day brings together urban planners, government officials, and cycling advocates to discuss sustainable transport. The Mobility Count, conducted across 11 bike stations, will quantify what Ilonggos already know: the city's bike lane network is functional, heavily used, and expanding. These data‑driven efforts strengthen Iloilo's case as a model for other Philippine cities.
The festival arrives as Iloilo's tourism portfolio deepens. The city recently earned its second ASEAN Clean Tourist City award and welcomed the Women Playwrights International Conference. A destination that can host a month‑long bike festival is a destination that has invested in the infrastructure to support it. For visitors, the festival offers an active, low‑carbon way to experience the city's gastronomy, heritage, and riverfront all in a single ride.
