The PSU-Floridablanca Campus, established under Republic Act No. 11977, is progressing with site development at the 50-hectare Floridablanca National Agricultural School property, initially operating at the Municipal Compound in Barangay Sta. Monica to serve Floridablanca and nearby municipalities.

Local officials and university administrators are fast-tracking the establishment of the Pampanga State University (PSU) Floridablanca Campus, with formal site turnover and groundbreaking activities now being actively coordinated to bring quality tertiary education closer to students in western Pampanga and neighboring areas.

A New Campus for Western Pampanga

The PSU-Floridablanca Campus is being established under Republic Act No. 11977, signed into law by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on February 15, 2024 . The law mandates the campus to offer short-term, technical-vocational, undergraduate, and graduate courses that respond to the human resource development needs of Pampanga and the Central Luzon Region . A 50-hectare parcel of land belonging to the Floridablanca National Agricultural School (FNAS) has been designated as the permanent site of the campus . The campus will be headed by a Campus Administrator appointed by the PSU Board of Regents . Initial operations are targeted to begin at the Municipal Compound in Barangay Sta. Monica while the permanent facilities are being developed.

Expanding Access to Tertiary Education

The Floridablanca Campus is expected to benefit not only residents of Floridablanca but also students from neighboring municipalities like Porac, Lubao, and even Dinalupihan in Bataan. This expansion comes as Pampanga State University itself was officially renamed from Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) through Republic Act No. 12148, signed on April 11, 2025 . The renaming strengthened the university's institutional capacity and expanded its curricular offerings . PSU currently serves over 42,000 students across eight campuses . Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, who sponsored the bills to strengthen PSU, emphasized that expanding the university's resources and academic programs would support Pampanga's growing economy by developing a skilled workforce for the Clark Freeport Zone and nearby economic hubs.
