Student Entrepreneurs Making a Difference
The spirit of entrepreneurship and social responsibility came to life as the LPU Cavite Union of Young Marketers (UYM), in collaboration with MYHERO and the Community Outreach and Service-Learning (CSL) Office, successfully turned over proceeds amounting to PHP20,000 to the Kanlong Foundation for Differently-Abled Children on May 12, 2026 . The funds were generated through the Greenovate Fair and Summit, an annual initiative of the College of Business Administration that showcases the entrepreneurial creativity, innovation, and business acumen of students while promoting meaningful community engagement .
The event provided students with a platform to develop and present sustainable business concepts while demonstrating how entrepreneurship can be utilized as a powerful tool for social impact . Beyond fostering innovation and enterprise development, the Greenovate Fair and Summit emphasized the importance of service and community involvement by channeling the proceeds of the activity toward supporting the programs and services of the Kanlong Foundation for Differently-Abled Children.
A Strong Foundation of Partnership and Purpose
The turnover ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Fedelyn P. Estrella, Director of the Community Outreach and Service-Learning Office, together with members of the CSL staff . Also present were Mr. Lucky Cedrick Guyamin, adviser of the Union of Young Marketers, and Ms. Krysma Joyce Salazar, ENT01B professor, whose guidance, mentorship, and unwavering support played a significant role in the successful implementation of the initiative . The Greenovate Fair and Summit exemplifies the commitment of LPU Cavite students to becoming socially responsible leaders who create positive change through innovation, collaboration, and service.
Through initiatives such as this, students are encouraged not only to develop entrepreneurial competencies but also to cultivate a strong sense of civic responsibility and compassion for the communities they serve .
